Fay Brings Out Baby Gators

Waters are past the banks of Lake Howell thanks to Fay, and some little alligators have been drawn to our beach. Check out this picture of two cooling out on our nature path. DOUBLE CLICK to see a bigger shot, then hit BACK to come back to the blog.

Croc. Hunter NOT

I've often joked about me catching a gator like the Crocodile Hunter since I've moved down here to Florida...not so much. Check this little gator I got a clip of in the flooded waters of Lake Howell.

Where's The Dock?

I thought I'd carry the spinner down to the dock to reel in a big bass on Saturday morning after Fay passed through. Well, as you'll see, the big rains we had filled the lake and then some. It is good to see the lake filled up again though after it had been so low. BTW, the dock is the one that I was standing on Thursday when I shot the video 2 below.

Check it out....and sorry for the shaky camera...I was looking more at where I was stepping than the camera...for snakes...

Where's The Beach?

Didn't have much luck at the beach on Lake Howell either. I did make a few casts off the picnic table but didn't get any bites.

Check it out the video....

TS Fay On Lake Howell

I decided to take the Flip Video down to Lake Howell on Thursday afternoon as the heavier bands of Tropical Storm Fay started to blow through. Gusts were getting to about 50 mph (I can't imagine what 100+ sustained winds would be like) and up until this point the weather said we'd had 6 to 8 inches in this area with several more to come overnight into Friday. As you can imagine, I got soaking wet doing this little shoot.

Oye Fay

We've been watching it rain and rain down here in Florida as Tropical Storm Fay creeps across the state and then back again. Some places got 30 plus inches of rain. Today, it has pretty much rained the entire day, and it looks like it will continue well into the night - maybe 4 to 8 inches here...or more.

Check out this quick clip of my co-worker Marc getting blown away like the TV news people do. Very Dramatic.
